Based on that and the Aug. 6 date for the Family Night Scrimmage, training camp will (hopefully) start on July 30.

Regardless of the weather or the status of the ongoing lockout, the Green Bay Packers will hold their annual shareholders meeting at Lambeau Field on Thursday, July 28.

Even though the team generally releases its financial data to reporters about two weeks in advance, this year’s meeting obviously will be huge from a national perspective if the lockout remains in place because the Packers — as the NFL’s only publicly owned team — make their financial statements public.

The meeting will begin at 11 a.m. and will take place rain or shine. Further information will be sent to shareholders with their proxies in mid-June.

While the shareholders meeting will take place without a labor agreement, the fates of the first day of training camp and the annual Family Night Scrimmage aren’t as certain. Family Night is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 6, the team announced. Ticket information was not announced because of the labor dispute. Based on that date and that the shareholders meeting typically is held two days before the start of training camp, the Packers’ first practice unoffically will be held on Saturday, July 30.

Also, the team announced the eighth annual Jerry Parins Cruise for Cancer is set for Friday, July 29. The motorcycle ride and postride tailgate party, which is organized by longtime Packers security chief Jerry Parins, has raised more than $450,000 for cancer-related causes. Registration and pledge program details will be announced soon.
