The Packers signed QB Akili Smith, the Cincinnati Bengals' first round pick in 1999, as a free agent this weekend.

Smith, a 6-3, 230 pound Oregon alum, was the third player selected overall in the 1999 draft. The Bengals waived the four-year veteran last week.

That brings the QB corral to six, along with Doug Pederson, Craig Nall, Zak Kustok and Craig Nall all behind Brett Favre.

Although he's got several NFL seasons under his belt, the 27-year-old Smith was active for only one game last season. His only appearance was in the Bengals loss to eventual Super Bowl champ Tampa Bay. His career numbers with Cincy the include 2,212 passing yards and 5 touchdowns in 22 games.

Smith will wear No. 11.
