The Chicago Bears have elevated linebacker Patrick Trahan from the practice squad to the 53-man roster, and signed DE Aston Whiteside to the practice squad.

LAKE FOREST, IL – The Chicago Bears elevated LB Patrick Trahan to the active roster from the practice squad and signed DE Aston Whiteside to the practice squad today.

Trahan appeared in five games for the Bears in 2011, recording five special teams tackles. The 6-2, 236-pound linebacker has spent the last 11 weeks of the season on Chicago’s practice squad.

Whiteside spent the first five weeks of the 2012 regular season on the Bears practice squad and spent a majority of the preseason with Chicago after entering the NFL with the Dallas Cowboys as an undrafted free agent out of Abilene Christian University.
