Underrated TE Visiting Packers

Griffin (Mark Konezny - USA Today Sports)

Ryan Griffin, a two-time all-conference selection, was the second-most productive tight end in UConn history.

The Green Bay Packers are leaving no stone unturned in their quest to fortify their tight end group. They are bringing in Connecticut standout Ryan Griffin for a pre-draft visit, a source told Packer Report.

In four seasons, he caught 116 passes for 1,500 yards and scored 10 touchdowns — all three marks rank second in school history among tight ends. He was all-Big East second team his final two seasons, with 33 catches for 499 yards (15.1 average) and three touchdowns as a junior and 29 receptions for 484 yards (16.7 average) and six scores as a senior. Brian Kozlowski, who played in the NFL for 14 seasons, is the only UConn tight end with more production.

Griffin wasn't invited to the Scouting Combine. At his pro day, which was attended by a Packers scout, Griffin (6-6, 254) ran in 4.87 seconds with a 34.5-inch vertical and 21 reps on the bench.

Packer Report hopes to have more on Griffin this week.
