The Packers' third-year standout sustained a broken fibula, according to the Journal Sentinel. The short-handed Packers will have to add a receiver or two this week.

Randall Cobb, the Green Bay Packers’ third-year receiving star, will miss between six and eight weeks with a broken fibula, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

All coach Mike McCarthy had to say on Monday is that Cobb would be out “multiple” weeks.

Due to the extent of the injury, it wouldn’t be a surprise if the Packers take advantage of the short-term injured-reserve list. That would free up a roster spot while allowing Cobb to return in six weeks.

The Packers almost certainly will have to add a receiver or two this week, with Cobb definitely out and James Jones questionable with a knee injury. The injuries left only Jordy Nelson and Jarrett Boykin for the second half on Sunday. The Packers could turn to undrafted rookie Myles White off the practice squad. Veterans with proven slot production include Brandon Lloyd, Deion Branch, Steve Breaston and Devery Henderson.

Cobb was injured late in the second quarter. After catching a third-down pass, Ravens safety Matt Elam tackled Cobb right on his knee. Cobb was driven off the field on a cart and watched the second half with the help of crutches.

The only transaction made by the Packers on Monday was re-signing receiver Reggie Dunn to the practice squad. Dunn spent one week on the practice squad before being released last week.

The Packers, knowing they were short-handed at receiver, tried to bolster that group in the draft by selecting Charles Johnson and Kevin Dorsey in the seventh round. Both players were injured during training camp, with Johnson starting the season on the practice squad and Dorsey landing on injured reserve. Johnson was signed to Cleveland’s 53-man roster over the weekend. The Browns, by the way, play at Green Bay on Sunday.
