PACKER REPORT PREDICTION (8-1): Eli Manning vs. Scott Tolzien. It’s a huge mismatch on paper. The bigger problem is Manning vs. the Packers’ secondary, which not only will be without Casey Hayward but also will be without surprise inactive Sam Shields. Shields is far and away the team’s best cornerback. He hardly gets any passes thrown his way, as quarterbacks have picked on Tramon Williams, the safeties and inside linebackers. On the other side of the ball, it’s a similar story as last week. Statistically, the Eagles’ defense wasn’t any good, but it had been one of the top units in the league over the last month. Statistically, the Giants’ defense isn’t any good, either, but it has allowed one touchdown on the last 40 possessions. The Packers simply don’t have enough firepower to win this game. GIANTS 31, PACKERS 13.
