Packers send a dozen to NFL Europe

NFL Europe has done a world of good for some Packers – one player that spent a stint overseas between seasons in Green Bay just added another Super Bowl ring to his collection Sunday. Now the Packers are hoping that what worked for former Packer Joe Andruzzi as well as current players Marco Rivera, Paris Lenon, Doug Pederson and Craig Nall will work for a dozen more allocated to NFLEL Monday.<p>

The team announced that three players from the 2003 active roster, CB Erwin Swiney, CB Derek Combs and LB Steve Josue will head to the spring developmental league. They'll be joined by practice squad player T Jason Jimenez, recent signees RB Kris Briggs, Corey Parchman, Wilson Thomas, LB Ralph Turner and Walter Williams and 2003 training camp participants TE Tony Donald, DT Cullen Jenkins, DE Eric Powell.

The Packers may allocate four more offensive players to the NFLEL.

The NFL Europe training camps open in about three weeks. The regular season begins April 3 and runs through early June, followed by a short post-season and the World Bowl XII on June 12.
