Favorite Packer-Bear Memories

What's your favorite story from the 80-year-old Green Bay-Chicago series? You don't have to be an octagenerian to appreciate the rich history of the NFL's oldest rivalry. Whether you're an historian or your memory dates back to last month's impressive Packer win in Chicago, there's no shortage of tales to tell. The Super Bowl season of '96 boasts one of the spectacular moments in Packer-Bear annals. The star was speedster Don Beebe.

Beebe was a newcomer to the Green Bay-Chicago phenomenon after spending most of his career with Buffalo in the AFC.

In his first Packer-Bear game, Beebe made his mark. The Bears had scored on Jeff Jaeger's 41-yard field goal to close to within 20-6 in the second quarter. On the ensuing kickoff, Beebe returned 90 yards untouched for the TD to break the game wide open. Green Bay went on to win 37-6.

Beebe received NFC Special Teams Player of the Week for his achievement. It must have fired him up, because he repeated the NFC honor the following week.

A 220-yard receiving performance against the 49ers on Monday Night Football - a game he didn't even start, but was pressed into service when Robert Brooks went down with an injury on the first play of the game.
