"He'll get a look," Sherman said. "We're not very good at this present time. Obviously, we have to look at all our options in regards to our punting."
Chapman, an Australian Rules Football veteran, could only watch as third-round draft pick B.J. Sander launched 10 punts Monday night with mediocre results.
After sending scouting director John Dorsey a tape of his club performances, Chapman signed with the Packers in March.
Although he is a highly-decorated athlete in his native Australia, Chapman's opportunity here has been extremely limited so far.
Chapman (6-2, 190 pounds)punted just once in the Aug. 7 intra-squad scrimmage. His effort sailed 53 yards with 4.3 seconds of hang time.
If power was the only factor, Chapman easily outdistanced Sander, who has just two punts over 40 yards at 44 and 41.
