Here's a look at what happened in Green Bay Packer history during the week of July 10-16:

1990: A very close call

Brett Favre, then an incoming senior at Southern Miss, was involved in a car accident in his home town of Kiln, Miss. on July 14, 1990. He suffered critical internal injuries in the crash and had to have 30 inches of intestine removed. Miraculously, he was back in the starting line up for the Southern Miss Golden Eagles a month after sugery.

1996: Much happier times

Six years to the day after Favre's near-fatal accident, he married his long-time girlfriend, Deanna Tynes, on July 14, 1996 at St. Agnes Church in Green Bay. The couple's courtship dated back a dozen years to his first year at Hancock North Central High School in Kiln.

2002: Movin' on up

The Packers moved into their new locker room, offices and team facilities on July 15, 2002. Players make themselves at home in their 64-by-120-foot football-shaped lockerroom, as well as the state-of-the-art facilities including a new weight room and a basketball court with parquet floor.

2004: If you build it, they will come

The new version of the Green Bay Packer Hall of Fame welcomes its 100,000th visitor on July 12, 2004. A young fan marked the impressive milestone for the revamped museum, which had opened only 10 months earlier.

Happy Birthday

Packer WR Sam Breeden was born on July 12, 1979.

DE Chukie Nwokorie turns 30 this week - born July 10, 1975.

Birthday Flashback

Former Packer punter Bucky Scribner was born July 11, 1960. Scribner, an 11th-round draft pick out of Kansas in 1983, beat out incumbent Ray Stachowicz to win the Packer punting job as a rookie. He went on to rank third in the NFC that year, but Scribner -- a Packer rarity as a left-footed punter -- only spent two seasons in Green Bay.
