Other names linked to the job are Sherman, former New Orleans Saints coach Jim Haslett and Baltimore Ravens offensive coordinator Jim Fassel.
In Minnesota, Brad Childress officially landed the Vikings' job on Friday. Childress, who was on the Packers' interview list, was the offensive coordinator in Philadelphia.
Before joining the Eagles, Childress was offensive coordinator at the University of Wisconsin when Bevell quarterbacked the Badgers to the Rose Bowl. Childress, not Bevell, would call plays, Childress said.
