Packers confirm quarterback is returning for 2006

Packers general manager Ted Thompson confirmed this morning that quarterback Brett Favre has decided to return to the Green Bay Packers this season.

Thompson issued a brief statement regarding Favre's decision:

"The Green Bay Packers are very pleased that Brett has come to this decision, and look forward to a successful 2006 season," Thompson said.
