Justin Harrell, the team's top draft pick, signed a multi-year contract with the Green Bay Packers today, the team announced.
One report said that Harrell's deal is for five years, though, no terms were available. However, linebacker Lawrence Timmons, the No. 15 overall pick selected by Pittsburgh, received a five-year deal worth $15 million earlier this week. The contract includes $8,053,000 guaranteed.
Harrell was a four-year letterman and defensive captain in 2006. He became the last Tennessee player to wear Reggie White’s No. 92.
In 35 career games, including 25 starts, Harrell had 82 tackles, four sacks and two interceptions. He earned second-team All-Southeastern Conference honors in 2005 before injuries limited his senior season to three games.
Harrell is the final of 11 draft picks to sign with the Packers. All rookies will take the field Saturday when the team opens training camp at 2 p.m.
