Q: Is the Pro Bowl a popularity contest?
Nick Barnett: "To be honest, the Pro Bowl is a bit of a popularity contest. You get guys who are in the media a lot nationally and they tend to get a lot more votes because it's name recognition, obviously. It's not always the best indication of who the best player is in the NFL at that position."
Q: Is it better to be in Phoenix (Super Bowl XLII) in February than in Hawaii?
Nick Barnett: "I'd much rather be in the playoffs than the Pro Bowl. I'd much rather be in the Super Bowl than the Pro Bowl. That's just the way it is. We've got a lot of games ahead of us at the minimum."
Q: If you are asked to play in the Pro Bowl due to a player who is unable to participate due to injury, will you go?
Nick Barnett: "If somebody drops out, you better believe I will be on the first plane over to Hawaii."
Q: What are your thoughts on Al Harris making the Pro Bowl for the first time?
Nick Barnett: "Al has really deserved that Pro Bowl spot. He's one of those guys that is not going to change his style of play to get votes, either. I know it means a lot to him. He's out there every game in 'press,' playing man-on-man with the best receiver they have. It's great to see that. If I would have went and he wouldn't have went, it would be ludicrous. I'm definitely happy for him."
Q: Does not making the Pro Bowl give you extra motivation in the upcoming games?
Nick Barnett: "I don't think we need any more motivation to kick ass. I think we have enough of that. I definitely would like to see more of us in the Pro Bowl because we're 12-2. It's not four players to get a team to 12-2. It takes a lot of guys to do that, but it's no big deal. There's a lot more Pro Bowls for all these guys and there's a lot more seasons left. It's not the most important thing."
Q: What did Brett Favre say to you today about not making the Pro Bowl?
Nick Barnett: "On the way back from practice, he told me, and I don't want to say too much of what he said, but he said, 'There will be a lot more Pro Bowls left for you. You definitely should have made it.' But it's not the most important thing. He said that he's been voted so many times and hasn't went because it's not always the best indication of who is the best player in the league. He said the Super Bowl is a lot better than going to the Pro Bowl, so we're going to try to get there instead."
Q: What do you think about the possibility of playing the NFC Championship Game at Lambeau Field?
Nick Barnett: "I would like to have home-field advantage just to play the game here, but if it doesn't happen, we're not a bad road team. We've won a lot of games on the road and are not scared or timid to play anywhere else. I would love to have it here just to have it in front of our fans and to have it in Green Bay, but if it's not, it doesn't matter. We're going to go out there and do what we have to do."
Q: What is the difference between playing the Chicago Bears this year and last year at this time?
Nick Barnett: "Last year we were trying to be .500 and hopefully get into the playoffs. This year, we are the NFC North champions, and they're fighting for jobs. We've got a lot on the line. We can accomplish what I don't think any Packer team has done and be 13-2, so we're going out there with all guns smoking."
