Quarterback Gus Frerotte, who turns 37 on July 31, visited with the Green Bay Packers Tuesday as the team continues its search for a back-up to Aaron Rodgers.
Frerotte also is expected to visit the Minnesota Vikings this week, according to reports.
Frerotte has played for seven NFL teams, including the St. Louis Rams last two seasons. He was selected in the seventh round of the 1994 NFL draft by the Washington Redskins, where he played for five seasons. Frerotte played in eight games, stepping in when Marc Bulger was injured, and completed 94 of 167 passes for 1,014 yards and seven touchdowns. He was intercepted 12 times and had a quarterback rating of 58.3.
Former Jacksonville backup Quinn Gray also met with the Packers March 11. He also visited with the Oakland Raiders last week.
Gray appeared in eight games last season, starting four. He threw ten touchdowns, including four in the final game of the season. He posted an 85.6 rating.

The Packers likely are looking at Frerotte as Rodgers' main backup while they groom a younger quarterback that they plan to select in the NFL draft.
Frerotte? The Packers probably can do better than to sign Frerotte as their top backup. However, it would be beneficial for the Packers to sign a veteran as soon as possible in order for him to get familiar with the offense through the team's off-season workouts, minicamps, organized team activities practices, and quarterbacks school.
Does Frerotte have enough in him to help the Packers win games if Rodgers is injured? Doesn't seem like it. He was 1-3 in the four games where he either started (three games) or played significantly for the Rams last year. He did not play in Green Bay's 33-14 win over the Rams Dec. 16 in St. Louis.
