Packers-Bears to meet in prime-time

The Green Bay Packers will have at least one more prime-time game this season against an old arch-rival

The Green Bay Packers reportedly will play the Chicago Bears in a December Monday Night Football game, according to a report in the Chicago Sun-Times. The location of the game has yet to be determined, but the NFL is scheduled to release its 2008 regular season schedule at 1 p.m. (CT) today.

The NFL previously announced that the Packers will open the season Sept. 8 at Lambeau Field against the Minnesota Vikings on MNF.

The Packers played a Sunday night game against the Bears Oct. 7 last year at Lambeau Field. Chicago won 27-20. The Packers and Bears played Dec. 23 at blustery Soldier Field with the Bears winning, 35-7.

The Packers had two NFC North Division games in December last year. It is believed that the league will schedule more division games in Weeks 16 and 17 to reduce the number of meaningless games played.

In addition to their home-and-away series against the three division teams, the Packers will host Atlanta, Carolina, Houston, Indianapolis and Dallas. Green Bay also will travel to play New Orleans, Tampa Bay, Jacksonville, Tennessee and Seattle.
