Packers lock up 4th-rounder Lang

OL T.J. Lang (Bill Huber/Packer Report)

The talented offensive lineman, a three-year starter at Eastern Michigan, likely got a four-year deal worth about $2.25 million.

The Green Bay Packers signed offensive lineman T.J. Lang on Tuesday, making the fourth-round selection their fifth draft pick to agree to a contract.

The 6-foot-4, 316-pound Lang, who started 36 games at Eastern Michigan, took the second-team reps at right guard and right tackle during the offseason practices. Josh Sitton and Allen Barbre are holding the starting spots at those positions, respectively, but the intelligent and feisty Lang could pounce if either of those two stumble.

Terms were not disclosed by the Packers, but presumably it's a four-year contract, just like was signed by fifth-rounder Jamon Meredith, sixth-rounders Jarius Wynn and Brandon Underwood and seventh-rounder Brad Jones.

Lang was the 109th pick of the draft. Chicago gave defensive end Henry Melton, pick No. 105, a four-year deal worth $2.261 million with a $511,230 signing bonus. Carolina gave running back Mike Goodson, pick No. 111, a four-year deal worth $2.242 million with a $492,400 signing bonus. That would make Lang's deal approximately four years for $2.25 million with a $500,000 bonus.

Three picks remain unsigned: first-round picks B.J. Raji and Clay Matthews III and fifth-round selection Quinn Johnson. Johnson's signing should be coming soon. He was pick No. 145; San Francisco gave linebacker Scott McKillop, pick No. 146, a four-year deal worth $1.94 million with a $192,250 signing bonus.
