Scouting Combine Primer

The Combine begins Wednesday.

The NFL Scouting Combine begins Wednesday at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. We have the list of players who are scheduled to attend, broken down by position, as well as the workout schedule.

The NFL Scouting Combine begins Wednesday at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.

Along with 40-yard dash times and 225-pound bench presses, the big benefit of the Combine is the player interviews. Each team gets 60 "formal" interviews, though any number of conversations can be held informally in a hallway. Last year, Clay Matthews III told us about his memorable interview with Packers general manager Ted Thompson. Most teams focus a large percentage of those interviews on the juniors, since this is their first chance to really get to know the early entrants.

Like we did with the Senior Bowl, Scout.com will have blowout coverage of the Scouting Combine all week. And leading up to the Combine, we will point out some of the prospects who will be of interest to the Packers.
