The Packers signed DT Grady Jackson, claiming the seven-year veteran on waivers from the New Orleans Saints, the team announced Tuesday.

Jackson, 30, played five seasons in Oakland before signing with the Saints in 2002. He was among New Orleans’ defensive leaders last season with 55 tackles, including six against the Packers in the Saints’ 35-20 win in the Superdome on Sept. 15, 2002.

Jackson, who will wear No. 75 for Green Bay, was waived by the Saints Monday. He was originally signed by the Raiders out of Knoxville College in the sixth round of the 1997 draft. His career stats include 299 tackles and 28.5 sacks.

In other roster moves, the Packers placed DT Rod Walker on injured reserve to make room for Jackson. Walker injured his knee vs. St. Louis in Week 7 and did not play in Sunday night’s win over Minnesota. The team also released DT Michael Landry from the practice squad.
