| Second-generation NFL signal-caller signed with Chicago during the off-season, joining the team as its most experienced passer with one Pro Bowl selection, 1 NFL passing title and a 39-33 regular season record during his NFL career. He and his father, Hall-of-Famer Bob Griese, are the only father-son combination to win NFL passing titles in league history. Ranks 14th in NFL history with a career passer rating of 84.8, compiled by completing 1,463-of-2,318 passes for 16,344 yards, 103 TDs and 78 INTs. His career totals in passing yards, pass attempts and completions are more than any QB in Bears history. Owns 16 career 300-yard performances, 33 multiple TD pass outings and 16 games of compiling a completion percentage of over 70%. Recorded superb totals during two seasons with Tampa Bay (2004-05), registering a passer rating of 91.4 while completing 67.6-percent of his passes for 3,768 yards, 27 TDs and 19 INTs. Established career-lows in every nearly every statistical category during his lone season with Miami (2003). Began NFL career with five seasons in Denver (1998-2002) during which he became the highest-rated passer in team history at 84.1 (min. 500 passes). Moved into 2nd in Broncos history in career completions (1,044), attempts (1,678) and completion percentage (62.2%), trailing only Hall of Famer John Elway in all 3 categories. Finished Denver career 3rd in passing yards (11,763) and TD passes (71), trailing only Elway and Craig Morton. Led Broncos to victory with a 4th-quarter or OT game-winning drive five times during his time there. Voted an offensive co-captain for Denver from 2000-02. Earned Pro Bowl honors in 2000 as he led the NFL and set a Broncos team record with a 102.9 passer rating while posting the 2nd-best TD-to-INT ratio (19/4) for a season in NFL history. Twice named AFC Offensive Player-of-the-Week (10/17/99, 9/10/01) and named AFC Offensive Player-of-the-Month (9/01). |
