2006: Finished with 53 tackles and a sack, which was down from 2005 when he had 62 tackles, two sacks and two passes defensed. ... Signed one-year tender offer of $385,000 as exclusive rights free agent on March 22.
2005: Became a force in the middle as the season progressed and started four of the team's final six games ahead of veteran Grady Jackson. ... If Jackson is not re-signed by the Packers in the 2006 off-season, Cole instantly becomes the player to beat for the nose tackle position. ... Was the team's highest-ranked non-starter in tackles with 62. Also had two sacks and two passes defensed. ... Committed four penalties.
2004: The 320-pounder was signed to the practice squad on Sept. 16 and moved to the active roster on Nov. 30. Recorded three tackles against Jacksonville on Dec. 19, a tackle against Minnesota on Dec. 24 and three tackles against Chicago in the season finale. With the Packers resting key players, Cole got his first career start.
First-year player from Iowa was signed to the practice squad on Sept. 16. He spent the 2003 training camp with Minnesota and the 2004 training camp with Detroit. Has not played an NFL snap though he spent two weeks on the Vikings' active roster. Detroit waived Cole on Sept. 5. |
