Marino's Take: Scouting the Offensive Tackles

2006: Developed into the Commodores' top offensive lineman and one of the premier tackles in the Southeastern Conference... League coaches tabbed Williams as a postseason second team All-SEC recipient... In postseason ceremonies, earned team's Most Valuable Offensive Lineman Award from coaching staff... Started every game protecting quarterback's blind side at left tackle, running his consecutive start streak to 21 games... Constantly earned unit's top blocking grade... Shared team Offensive Player of the Week honors with receiver Earl Bennett following performance in win over Temple, then shared the same recognition with QB Chris Nickson following narrow loss at Kentucky... Earned the team offensive award outright for his performance in season finale versus Tennessee... After allowing one quarterback sack in the opener at Michigan, did not allow another in the final 11 games.

2005: In first year of collegiate action, this agile, yet versatile lineman continually showed improvement as the season progressed... By season's end, regarded as one of team's most dependable offensive lineman, alternating between two positions on left side with responsibility of protecting quarterback's blindside... Consistently graded out as one of team's top offensive linemen while seeing action in every game... Earned nine consecutive starts at left guard, though he played just as frequently at left tackle... Shared team's Offensive Player of the Week honors after performance in first collegiate start against Ole Miss... Two weeks later, named team's Offensive Player of the Week for performance against Middle Tennessee.

2004: Did not dress... Participated as practice squad offensive tackle, earning scout team Offensive Player of the Week honors after Tennessee game.

2003: Redshirted.

HIGH SCHOOL: Offensive tackle for powerful Louisiana team that went 10-2 enroute to district title... Named All-Region and All-Conference as senior... Named to 5A All-State Academic Team and was vice president of National Honor Society... Member of Key Club, French Club and Beta Club.
