2007: The third-year pro was expected to be the opening day starter for the Packers, but a knee injury that he sustained on the first day of training camp prohibited him from competing for the job. When Morency returned, he appeared indecisive and went down easy in the open field. He simply was not the same back who averaged 4.5 yards a carry in 2006 behind Ahman Green. ... Rushed for 108 yards on 29 attempts (3.7 per carry) in 13 games. ... Fifth on the team in receiving with 30 catches for 199 yards. ... Did not score a touchdown rushing or receiving.
2006: Aquired by the Packers on Sept. 13 in a trade for running back Samkon Gado. ... Started for the injured Ahman Green on Oct. 2 at Philadelphia and rushed for 99 yards. ... Also gained 101 yards against Arizona Oct. 29, rushed for 69 yards on just 7 carries (9.9-yard avg.) against San Francisco Dec. 10, and scored two touchdowns at home against Detroit on Dec. 17. ... Finished with 434 yards on 96 carries for an impressive 4.5-yard per carry avg. ... Prior to arriving in Green Bay, in 13 NFL games, including Week 1 game, had 51 carries for 197 yards (3.9 avg.) and two touchdowns. He also has averaged 21.9 yards on 20 career kickoff returns. .. Selected by Texans after his junior season in the third round of the 2005 NFL Draft (73rd overall). ... Spent four years as a center fielder in the Colorado Rockies farm system before enrolling at Oklahoma State.
