Biography:
Before going down with an ACL tear, which ended his season in 2001, Jamal Lewis was considered the best young halfback in the league. In 2000, Lewis put all of the question marks about his top five selection to rest by rushing for over 1,300 yards during his rookie season, while leading the Ravens to a Super Bowl win. He possesed the perfect blend of raw power and sprinter's speed. Lewis was also the Ravens' go to running back in the red zone and in short yardage situations. But the question marks are back once again in 2002. Lewis will have to prove that he can still be a top tier running back in the NFL, despite playing on two reconstructed knees. Jamal Lewis is in his third season out of the University of Tennessee.
