Veteran tight end has been a productive receiver in two seasons with Chicago, catching more passes than any other Bear tight end during that time… Bears are his third team from the former NFC Central, having spent four seasons with Tampa Bay and Minnesota… Caught career-high 20 passes and three touchdowns in 2002 despite missing six games due to injury… Solidified the Bears tight end position in his first year with the team by playing in all 16 games and displaying a knack for timely receptions… Signed with Chicago during training camp (8/14/01) after being waived by the Vikings… Compiled career-high 202 receiving yards on 17 receptions in 2000 in lone season with Minnesota… Signed with Vikings as a free agent after playing three seasons with the Buccaneers… Career started off slowly with three injury-plagued seasons; with New Orleans in 1996 and Dallas from 1994-95… Originally drafted in the fifth round of the supplemental draft by the Cowboys in 1994.
College
Split time between TE and RB during college career at Emporia State. Had 624 yards on 128 carries (4.9 avg.) with seven TD and added 13 catches for 172 yards and two TDs. Honorable mention all-Mid America Intercollegiate Athletic Association. Transferred to Emporia State from Cisco (Texas) Junior College.
